July of 2012 was when I was officially diagnosed with Usher Syndrome II. What a crazy year it's been. Lots of emotions. Feeling uncertain, happiness, grieving, blessed, fear, comfort, sadness, loved, etc. There were many times where I felt guilty for having some sad days when I knew friends were going through cancer treatments and others who have it far worse than I do. Around this time when I was feeling that, I had received an email from a fellow USH person whom I met through a blog last year ... read more
The Megan Foundation
Last year when I was first diagnosed with Usher Syndrome II, I was googling blogs, websites, links to anything or anyone that I could connect with. I only found a few (which I have links to already on here) but no active blogs. I just really wanted to meet someone who could relate to exactly what I was going through. Now I know why they have support groups for things like this! It just helps knowing you aren't struggling alone. Yesterday I thought I would try searching Pinterest again for ... read more
My “Hearing” Cat……
I am dedicating this post to my amazing, dog personality like, "hearing" cat, Mufasa. Today is Valentine's Day and he turns 5 years old. We all have heard of Seeing Eye Dogs for the blind and perhaps some have heard about the Hearing Dogs for the Deaf...but what about a Hearing Cat for the Deaf? YUP. It is totally not crazy! My cat is one of them!! It is pretty incredible if you ask me. I didn't realize this until we moved up to Nor Cal that Mufasa would let me know ... read more

A Dream Come True!!!
The STORY: (sorry it's a bit long) I had ordered a bunch of ink for my printer a few weeks ago and it still hadn't come. I contacted the seller on amazon and advised them of the situation. The seller replied that they lost track on what package went out and were sooooo sorry! They said they would send it out ASAP. SOOOOO.....I am expecting a package from NewYork from this ink seller. YESTERDAY: My husband came home last night and told me there was an UPS note on the door. "AWWWWWWW" I ... read more
Better IS now
As I eagerly await fall coming (these high 80 temps are NOT helping), I am reminded that my sunlight days are shortening and it makes my chest tighten. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE LOVE FALL weather but I HATE HATE that we lose daylight. Every year I get this feeling of anxiety because if I am ever out and about, I have to make sure I am home by 4:30pm if I am driving. I literally count out the hours I have left when I go out shopping (or out with friends) It could be 10am and I feel ... read more
Memories – How He Proposed
Last night I was thinking back to when my husband proposed to me. I realized that it had happened six years ago just two days ago! I thought it would be fun to share the story of how it happened as a good reminder in our history of love. Summer Evening, September Ninth, Year Two-Thousand Six He picked me up for a dinner date. Just a regular night out, but in change, we decided to have fun and dress real nice. I was actually the one who suggested it because, well, sometimes a girl ... read more
